ENERGY EFFICIENT WINDOWS by Simonton

At Simonton, we understand that energy efficiency is more important than ever. That’s why we are continuously looking for ways to make our windows and doors as thermally efficient as possible. From the materials we use and the glass packages we offer to our dedication as an ENERGY STAR partner, we’ve got you covered when it comes to energy efficiency.

Premium Vinyl

The premium vinyl used in our windows and doors is an excellent insulator. Its thermal properties are far superior to aluminum, steel and stainless steel. This ensures very low temperature transfer from inside to out, helping keep your home comfortable.

Low E Glass Coatings

Simonton windows and doors are available with ProSolar® Low E glass. A transparent metallic oxide coating applied to the glass surface allows short-wave energy to pass through but reflects long-wave infrared energy for greater thermal efficiency.

The space inside an insulating glass unit—between the glass panes—may be filled with Argon gas, an odorless, non-toxic gas that is six times denser than air. This acts as an added barrier for a higher level of efficiency. Available in some regions of the country, Krypton gas is even denser than Argon gas and further maximizes energy efficiency and temperature transfer. Which can translate in to lower utility bills.

Spacer Systems

Simonton windows and doors feature unique spacer systems within the insulating glass unit. Made of highly thermally prohibitive materials, the spacers are placed between the glass panes to help seal the entire unit, create a space for inert gases and further reduce temperature transfer. Intercept® Spacer System: Offers a unique U-channel design that minimizes conduction for increased efficiency and comfort. U-shaped design flexes and contracts, reducing seal failure in the insulating glass unit.

Supercept™ Spacer System: Made of a durable stainless steel alloy, the Supercept offers a one-piece, flexible U-channel design and patented web corner system that greatly reduce sealant stress and seal failure in the insulating glass unit.

Super Spacer® System: This solid silicone foam spacer provides superior energy efficiency and does not conduct energy as quickly as metal spacers. Silicone foam is also flexible and helps reduce stress cracks.

Laminated Glass

Impact-resistant laminated glass consists of a durable interlayer sealed between two layers of glass. This advanced glass package acts as a barrier against energy loss, noise transmission, UV ray damage, and forced entry.
