Employee Spotlight/ Nick Jones

Meet Nick Jones, another one of our estimators.

Tell us a little about your background:
I was born in Lubbock and had the privilege of attending Texas Tech University. I am married WAY out of my league and we are enjoying our one month old daughter Georgia Pearl.
How long have you worked at Jones & Associates and what do you do?
…since I could push a broom and pull a trash can. Throughout high school and college I began working in various departments learning the ropes. I spent my initial time after graduation in the field learning hands on with our exceptional crews. I’ve spent the last 2 1/2 years on the sales side of the business.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I enjoy the relationships I get to build everyday. I’ve made some good friends over the last couple of years.
What surprised you most about working here?
There is a steep learning curve and the education never ends.
What are some of your hobbies when you’re not working?
If it is outdoors I probably enjoy it (hunting, lake activities, snow skiing, piddling around the house)
If someone writes a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Destiny
What is the best vacation you ever went on?
Jamaica for our honeymoon
What is something you’ve always wanted to try?
Go skydiving and I would also like to go elk hunting in Colorado.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I taught English in the Czech Republic for 6 months during my college years.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
Selling some windows, siding and roofing in the hub city until Georgia starts sending the money home.

Nick Jones is our son and the youngest of our salesmen. He has come on strong and works hard to learn the business. He has become an integral part of the team. It’s been a pleasure to have one of our children want to work in the family business. I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know Nick a little better! Even I learned a little more about him…
