Thoughts on the hail storm

As I write, Iʼve just learned of another major hail storm that has no doubt has brought out a lot of damage to homes and crops.  For some folks a hail storm brings the inconvenience of dealing with insurance adjusters and contractors.  For others, a bad hail storm destroys their livelihood.  Our hearts go out to those who have incurred losses that are difficult to recover from.

This has been a tough year for those involved in agriculture.  Of course, in our part of the world most all of us are directly tied to the success or failure of the agricultural economy.  We have enjoyed two or three great years in a row.  Falling from the height of that great success probably makes a hard landing seem exceptionally difficult to take.

But, as history can attest, West Texans come from hardy stock.  With Godʼs blessing, we will recover.  We just have to remember that the night is always darkest just before the dawn.  Keep striving.  Keep praying.  Be willing to think outside the box and we will see the sun rise again.
