Employee Spotlight/Dave Abbott

Meet Dave Abbott, our Quality Control man, sometimes referred to as “The Cup Man!”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tell us a little about your background:

I was born and raised in Lubbock.  I’ve lived here all my life, except for 1 year in Odessa and 3 years in Germany when I was in the army.  I’ve been married to Peggy for 54 years.  I have 2 children, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

 

How long have you worked at Jones & Associates and what do you do?

I’ve worked here for 3 1/2 years.  I am in Quality Control.  I check with customers after the job is finished.

 

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I like visiting with our great customers after we finish their job.

 

What suprised you most about working here?

The Mennonites!  As a group, they are some of the nicest people I have ever known and the hardest workers I’ve ever known.

 

What are some of your hobbies when you’re not working?

I used to golf and fish, but don’t do much of either now.  Peggy and I like to travel.

 

If someone writes a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

The Old Man Got It Mostly Right!

 

What is the best vacation you ever went on?

A trip to Europe and our company cruise.

 

What is something you’ve always wanted to try?

Skydiving

 

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I love Classical music.

 

Where do you see yourself in 20 years?

Heaven

 

Dave is fun to have on our team!  He likes to tease everyone and they sure like to give him a hard time!  I hope everyone enjoyed getting to know Dave a little better as much as I did!  I would love to get to see Dave go skydiving!
